head milling?
Just enough to make sure its flat, then get a THINNER head gasket instead.
A few friends and I got bored and decided to build a D series killer. So we took an old D15B7 from a DX and milled the head 68 thousanths. Its mightly milled. He got an old Gude cam from a 90 CRX and we threw it together. We're thinking the CR is pretty close to 10.5:1. Also put a EX intake manifold and a GSR throttle body and match ported the IM. No clearance issues or anything. The car runs good, its in a 93 CX thats gutted. He lined up with another friend with a B16a2 in a 92 gutted DX and he couldn't lose the CX (on the DX's) rear bumper. Its pretty cool, I'm sure the car doesn't weigh anything, but still, its a 1.5lt with $100 worth of work. It will probably run mid/low 15's out here, 3100ft above sea level. The DX runs high 14's.
On the latest "Grassroots Motor sports" magazine, there is an article about how to mill the head at home.
I just pick this issue today, haven't read the article yet, though
