replaced axel still vibration? any ideas
Car is a 1997 dx hatch, recently replaced the passenger side axel because of torn boot in orginal. Replaced with a pepboys one , Now seems like the car is pulling more to the right as well as more of a steering wheel vibration then before? Tire tread is near new wheel is balanced aswell .. I've been told these aftermarket axels even though new are still refurbished so this may be my problem? If not any sugguestions please. Car is lowered on h&r sportspring/kyg shocks
has the car ever been in a slight car accident? if so, the car's frame needs to be straightened out.. this is quite common on cars that have been in a small accident(or big one)..... if you turn on the AC, does it vibrate even more? if it does, then you need the frame straightened out.
could be ball joints or wheel bearings. My wheel bearings were so bad that it messed up the hub, so i had to replace that too. Also could STILL be the axle, even though you changed the boot, the joint could still be bad from all the dirt that got in.

It vibates at slow speeds aswell as highway also pulling to the right more then it was before, you can see the steeringwheel shaking more then it was before but I mean you can just feel it all on the right side . I tried to rotate tire to make sure it wasnt jus that one but ya same thing. I appreciate everyones input on this!!! Also.. Am I going to be able to return this axel to pepboys even though Ive already installed and driven it.. even though it may be there axel that sux?
just as long as you have the receipt you should be fine just return it and tell them that the axle was not balanced and exchange it for another one they shouldnt give you a problem
