wet sand paper or reg sandpaper for polishing rims?
3m wetordry works great. finish with some #00 Steel Wool then final polish. Honestly that german stuff called Flitz works great.
regular dry sandpaper rarely goes up high enough in grit size that you'll need to polish metal. even though 3m makes the wet/dry sandpaper its better to use wet anyways because you use water as a lubricant and it carries away the particles that would otherwise clog up the sandpaper and make it useless after a few strokes.
depending on the condition of the wheels i'll start with 600 wet and work my way all the way up to 2000, wet also
then i'll use buffing compounds, tripoli (brown) and then white rouge and finish up with a polish.
