My b18c1 is knocking so I'm trying to decide what I want to do about it and would like some of yous guys inputs. I would like to add a supercharger sometime around the summer so I'm trying to get an idea of what would be the best route to take.
1. Rip out the crank and find which rod is knocking. Have the rod checked to make sure it is usable, then have the crank turned and replace the rod and main bearings.
This is the only option I can do my self plus it would be the cheapest.
2. Buy a built block.
I think the second cheapest option would be to buy a built bottom end, but then im going to have an engine that someone has built for thrash and has probably done so. I might be able to do this by myself but it's alot to do on top of work on and school.
3. Rebuild the bottom end.
I'm not going to have the block sleeved and I don't think that I need to buy forged internals at most I'll be running 10psi. Time is the only issue.
4. K-swap.
I would do a k-swap if I can find someone selling everything I need to drop it into my ek. Time and money would be an issue.

I would go with number 1 because it is the cheapest. But, tbh if I really had the money, I would definitely go for the K swap and go from there. If the car is your commuter car what I would pick is the quickest and cheapest option.

As far as a budget goes I don't want to spend more than $3000, if I found a good deal on a k-swap then I could expand my budget.
