So to clarify, your LED is on solid, not flashing? If so, it is called valet mode, this allows door locks to function with the remote, but it will bypass the alarm. If your vehicle died while you where driving it, I doubt it is the alarm, unless someone decided to use the starter kill relay for "ignition kill".

In theory, the starter (or ignition) kill of the alarm should only be engaged when the alarm is sounding or triggered. Other option is the starter/ignition kill relay failed. More often than not, I see the alarm not being the cause of the vehicle's electrical issues, but it is the first thing many assume is the cause....dont rule it out thou.

"Armchair Diagnostics", results may vary.....

I have to agree with KRock459 although it is unlikely that it is the alarm that is causing the problem it is still the first place I would look.

You will need to check under the dash for anything obvious, [loose/unconnected ign. harness wires].

If the alarm is the cause of the problem then it has to be a failure of a relay used to interrupt, [kill] the ign. circuit, fuel pump circuit, injectors or ECU/ECM.

The first thing you will need to do, if it is nothing obvious under the dash, is to find out why the car is not running, fuel or spark.

Turn the ign. switch one to the run position, not start, can you hear the fuel pump prime, you should be able to hear the pump run for a few seconds when the ign. key is turned on.

If you can hear the fuel pump then that's not the problem, next check for spark, there are a few ways to do that, easy way is to try and start the engine then remove a spark plug, if it is "wet" and smells like gas, there probably is no spark, another way is to unplug the spark plug lead stick a screw driver into the lead and hold the metal shaft of the screwdriver close to a metal part of the engine, [it needs to be close, about 1/8"] and have someone try and start the engine, look for a spark between the screwdriver and the metal it is held close to.
A 3rd way is to have someone who can take a joke hold the unplugged spark plug lead in one hand and any metal part of car with the other hand while you try and start the car, that person should not have a hart condition, be your girl friend/wife/mom/dad/sister a brother is OK unless he is big enough to beat you up.

A failure like yours, [car just quits running out of the blue while driving] is normally related to a loss of spark and in Honda/Acura that is almost always the ICM, [ignition control module] in the distributor, not sure if your Mitsubishi has one, my guess is it does. 94
