im a big oem guy, trying to make a ctr replica.... got the full interior just want the keyless... plus it plugs right in, or should at least... no ghetto wiring. nice and easy
he just said he wanted to make a replica.. i'd call a well-known honda dealership and ask a couple questions. they might be able to give you more insight and allow you to do more research with the info given.
To add keyless entry, to your 2000 Civic, you have to have power locks OE, (factory) for this to work.
All you need to buy is the keychain remote -
Honda part# 08E61-S01-101. The rest of the system is already installed in your Civic.
The transmitter has to be programmed in order to use the keyless entry.
Directions: (These steps have to be done quickly (no pauses) or you will have to start over again)
Insert ignition key turn to the 'on' position press the unlock button (on the remote).
Turn the key off.
Turn the key to the 'on' position press the unlock button (on the remote)
Turn the key off.
Turn the key to the 'on' position press the unlock button again (on the remote)
Turn the key off.
Turn the key to the 'on' position again push the unlock button (on the remote).
you will hear the power locks cycle (once you get it into 'programming' mode)
Press the unlock button again.
Press the unlock button on any other remotes you have (the car can remember up to three)
The transmitter lists for $89 at the dealer, but you probably get an aftermarket transmitter at AutoZone or Advance for cheaper.
