Default Will be replacing valve cover gaskets soon. Should I do valve adjust then?

all stock except for shorty air intake and 421 header.

car has 300k but d15b only has ~80-90k

I dont burn oil, car runs great. I just did a comp test cuz I hadnt b4 so I figured I would get a baseline. good #'s wet & warm 180 190 185 180
when I pulled my plugs they were swimming in oil so I know my tower seals are shot, but the plugs are clean inside the cyl, oil only on the outside.

my question:

Since I will be pulling the cover to replace the gaskets, should I plan on doing a valve adjustment while I am in there?
or would that be fixing something that aint broke and possibly asking for trouble I dont have?

Sure, given the mileage, though it should really be just a check of the valve lash, and adjust as needed. Honda Civics of this year hold their lash well. Honda says it is supposed to be checked every 15k miles. See http://www.autozone.com/shoppi...61663 . But I did not touch my 91 Civic's valve lash for some 15 years and 140k miles, and when I finally checked the lash, all was pretty good. I may have adjusted one valve.

You should not put off changing those tower seals. It is not too hard a job, and it is pretty common for Hondas as old as yours. Here is a writeup I did on it for my 91 Civic: http://honda.lioness.googlepag...tubes

if you feel you have the skill and the right tools (ie: feeler guage) gap them

if memory serves me correctly i think its .10 on the intake side and .08 on the exhaust side... dont quote that though, look it up.

it's easy, the only part that sucks is turning the engine to TDC for each cylinder while adjusting it's valves. It just takes time I guess.
