I'm putting new headers on my car and I just stripped a nut, I was taking off the stock manifold.

How can I take this nut out???? Is there a special tool I can use????

Any help is appreciated

Believe me I tried to think of a better title but this one works

 

there are these little ez out sockets you get get at your local parts store ive used them a few times they are a lifesaver

 

it might help if you mention which nut it is, where it is and how you stripped it, a picture would be nice.
"I have a stripped screw on my car what do I do?"
or
"I stripped the head out of a phillips screw that holds the radio faceplate cover in on my stock radio in my 2000 EX"
Which one would you rather try to diagnose?

 

reguardless wether its on a 2000 or a 95, a nut is a nut. go to your local home depot or lowes and get an extraction kit. or tell the guy your problem and they might have them individually and you get get one like that.

 

For getting off rounded nuts or bolts, in this case it's a 12mm nut? I use IRWIN Bolt-Grip sockets, they work like a charm! In this case you might need the deep socket variety.

(or did you mean you stripped the threads in the cylinder head?)

 

get a bolt extractor
1. tap the center of the stripped bolt and make sure its as close to the center as possible
2.drill a hole through the center of the bolt(most extractors will have a recommended size of the drill bit
3. lightly hammer the the bolt extractor into the drilled out hole
4. turn the extractor counter clockwise and the bolt should snow come out

If it's a 12mm, I'll hammer on a 11mm socket and go from there
