vtec smoke?
Hey guys got a slight problem, i have a 96 gsr and ir runs great but whenever i hit vtec it blows a puff of smoke but does not do it during just regular driving. the car has been sitting for 7months started weekly and changed the oil everyt 2 months and i just brought it out of storage and this is the first actual time its been a daily driver since i never really drove it when it wasn't stored. I am wondering if its a head gasket or if the piston rings dried up on me and need to be replaced? Any help is great thanks
I read the title and though some jackass was trying to JDM his smoke. lol
Any number of thing cause this. The only way to tell would be to perform a compression and leakdown test.

so i have an issue with coolant possibly getting into the oil and blowing out the exhaust or a leak that would cause it to blow out the exhaust as in a crack in my block possibly

Things to check for a possible blown hg:
1) There will be a thin layer of oil on top of the coolant since oil is lighter.
2) The oil will have a milky look to it. When you drain it, it will run out like chocolate milk - very thin and the same color.
3) Your car will start to overheat.
4) When your car is overheating, you can rev it up and the temp will go down due to air bubbles around the temp sensor.
5) A thick white cloud of smoke will begin to come out the tail pipe. The worse the hg gets, the worse the cloud will become. It will start out looking like your car when you first start it up in the cold, except it will not go away once the engine warms up.
6) Your exhaust will have a sweet smell to it.
7) Coolant may appear between the Head and the block on the outside of the engine.
If you have any of these symptoms, I would perform a leak down test to be sure it is a bad hg. Then, try to not drive the car b/c the more times it overheats the more likely the head and possibly the block will become warped.

to be honest id drive it for a week or so to see if its still there, and then if it is id go from there check the coolant level , and keep an eye on that and the oil. thats what i would do
took it to a friend that owns a garage and does pretty much all his work with hondas and turbos and he took a look at it and said he can find nothing wrong with the head gasket and said the block was strong and it pretty hard to crack the gsr block and he took it for a ride and said maybe its my mass air flow sensor or on of the sensors on the intake manifold that isn't working correctly and something is going wrong with that
