mine is 18%... I have been pulled over for it before, I do not really like it this dark, but I do like that it helps keep the interior from fading further, and it does help w/ the 100+ degree days here at the beach......

I have been contemplating pulling the tint off of the driver/passenger side windows and going no tint, or legal....

My GSR had dark tint when I purchased it, but after being pulled over by the cops a couple of times I took it off. Dark tint makes it is hard to see through the windows at night especially when backing up.

Personally I dont like tint on Type R's I feel they look way cleaner without. 2 of my R's came with Tint and I had it removed. My recent R didnt come with Tint thankfully. The worst part is the rear window because of the dot matrix stuff tint tends to bubble and look terrible back there. Personal preference though either way you own an R so
35% all the way around is perfect. mines tinted 35% on all windows and 40% carbon tint on the windsheild. sorry no pics right now im at work will try to post some soon.
In Kentucky i have yet to be pulled over for it. But in IL i think they may be more strict. I been home to the Chi-town area 3 or 4 times since i got my tint, and no problems yet.
I don't have an R but on my EP3 I am rocking legal 35% and I like it. Makes the vivid blue paint stand out a little more, helps with heat and interior fading (especially on the suede parts of the seats), and I just like the way it looks. I recommend just getting legal. My friend got 20% on his WRX after I told him not to. He ended up having to get it retinted and they charged him to remove the tint too. So basically he paid 500 bucks for window tint.
Just throwing my .02 in.

See now that is something I have never had to deal with. I have had all of my vehicles tinted with 15% or darker since I first started driving and it has never been an issue.

i have 5% all the way around. except the front of course
with the issue of the back dot matrix...get a good tinter and you will have no problems. i have no problems with it. they all sit very flush with no bubbles or anything

I bought my ITR tinted. I took off the tint since I mostly drive the car at night (to hardpark), and she sleeps in the garage anyway.
Plus, it's more JDM when you are riding around in a fish bowl.

all you guys complaining about how hard it is to see out of it at night, bunch of pu**ies.. your eyes get used to it after a 2 weeks.. its not hard at all.. stop making excuses
I have 5% on my car(bought the car like that) I thought I'd half to get ride of it but my eyes got used to it..and I can see out of it at night backing up.
I've never been pulled over by cops for it, but guess its all where you live. Cops are more strict in different locations. Plus idk about you guys but I dont want people see what I have in my car.. aka edm cluster/pedals/steering wheel,
tint is more security/ privacy if anything

lol. my jdmness black DA, suited nice with dark tint, was a must.
now, my champ white DC sees no tint, stays clean. its really a preference. i would have trouble putting black tint on a white car, idk.
