what might have caused my catalytic to burn? i have a 1990 civic hb w/jdm d15b vtec i took it off yesterday and u can see trough it and i changed it 6month ago.

I used put 3 gallons of 93octane once? would that been the cause

or is the fuel/air mixture to high?

or misfire?

how do i check all of this?
