anyone tried a HKS low pressure turbo kit?
i can get it fitted and tuned for about AU$5000 (US$2500), going and getting all the headwork done for NA tuning would set me back around AU$6000- that would basically include all tuning and headwork, cams, retainers valve springs p&p and the usual stuff.
the turbo kit is a low pressure jobby, and apparently doesn't require any internal work. i don't know how hard it blows, but they said they generally see 50% increase in power output at the wheels with the mx-5's (miatas to you ppl) with a similar kit.

oh yeah.... i wanted to know what you folks think of the idea

It supposedly a straight bolt on job, blows at around 4-6psi (i think) and the kit for the integra is supposed to give 40% more hp/torque. i asked this question on another board and was told that the kit is not worth it and to go with drag II/III or a JRSC
I think I saw a similar kit by HKS installed on a V6 Accord in some magazine a while back. Because of its auto tranny, they felt it was best to use a low boost turbo. The results were pretty disappointing. I think it was about 50hp increase to the wheels, which for a turbo, is not so good. Seeing as how it costs about the same as a drag kit, I wouldn't see why you would get this HKS one unless you had to limit power for some reason (eg. auto trany). Even then, I'd find a way around it, rather than getting a "turbo" kit which gives slightly more power than good bolt-ons.
