Default CRX Problem Need HELP ASAP!!!

I have a 1991 Crx si with a b18a1. When im sitting there idling it surges from 500 to 1500. I already cleaned out my iacv and was wondering if it could be something to do with my alternator, because when it surges my lights go dimmer and then brighter. Or could vaccum leak cause this surge and my lights to be dimmer and brighter? THanks

I think you nailed it, my guess is a vacuum leak. The alt. will put out more voltage at 1500 than 500, 500 RPM is very low Rs for a alternator.

Clean it with brake clean. Soak it. try to clean the tubing as good as possible (free of crud). If it doesn't fix it just replace it. Go to your local dealership or scrap yard (you can find a good one from an accident car). Almost any honda (or acura) will do.

Bring your old one and compare bolt patterns. I know honda has 2 different styles, but I don't know the specific engines to which you can find a good part.
