I believe the reason why no one's stepping up is because this question belongs in the (Wait for it) Honda Truck & SUV forum.

Your question could be easily answered by your local Auto Salvage Emporium. They would have all manner of interchangability listings.

You could infer by the trans groupings in Honda TSB's that there is SOME commonality, but that's only a guess.

I don't see any reason why a trans for any f23 wouldn't fit, but I'm not sure. check the thread with the guy trying to put a f22 trans on a f23. You may have an issue with different style ECU/TCUs

The F23 will line up perfectly (assuming its a 6th gen)
An H23 will line up, but the gear ratio is different than the f23; the gears are much longer. Thus, putting more wear on your engine.

This is true. If you want the perfect fitment, and premium gas mileage to match your motor, search for a low mileage (80k and under) F23 auto tranny, dont drive it hard, and keep up on its fluid intervals. It should last you quite a while.

But the H23 tranny is almost compairibly bad. So I'd choose the tranny that was made for the motor.

The H23 will give you a little more power room to work with because its made for higher revving; giving your engine more pickup, and using more gas.

For what you'll probably be using it for should be fine for the F23 auto trannny. Just baby it..

I haven't found much information on the Odyssey's here, but there is a good Odyssey Forum, if you type in Odyssey Forum on Google, you should be able to find it.

That might give you a firm answer to your question.
