Default Finally decided to do pics of my DD

This 2000 coupe has been with me for over 6 years... through my last 2 years of college and 5 years of marriage. Bought it from the dealer in 2002 with 7,200 miles on it. I've been all over the midwest in it, and drive it year round, including about 140 miles a day.

It currently has 194,900 miles on it, and I just swapped the motor to drive it another 6 years. Never has left me on the side of the road, and nothing major has ever broken. My goal is just to have a daily driver that's a little fun, but I don't have to worry too much about. Always beat, never pamper.

I know it's not too much to look at, but it's mine, and the most reliable and fun car I've ever owned. My last 2 cars were ready for the junkyard at 190K, but this one's ready to do another 200K.

I think next mods will be interior for obvious reasons:

Actual mileage yo!

Mods: cheap wheels, B18C1 with b16 tranny, Apexi WS2, B&M dual bend, Koni Reds, Eibach Sportlines, 89 Accord shift **** lol.

Planned mods: LS 5th gear for gas mileage, carbon synchros to fix the 5th gear grind, shocks/struts/balljoints at some point, header and high flow cat, possibly ASR brace and swaybar combo.

Swapthread for this car in my sig.

EDIT: Just did new shocks and springs, added new pics. I've had the sporline/koni red combo on for about two days with a good alignment, and it feels like a whole new car. I didn't have any clue how bad my stock shocks were after 203K. They dropped it a tad more than I really wanted, but I think I'm going to live with it because I like how it looks and rides.

I like it. simple and clean. I would say lower it but for daily driving oem suspension is spot on.

you should drop a little bit, since it is a daily.

I've been thinking about dropping it on again / off again for 6 years. Every fall I decide I'm going to drop it in the spring, and then decide not to because it's already too low to drive comfortably on 6+ inches of snow. Eventually I'm going to have to replace the original shocks/springs, and I'll probably drop it then. Right now, I'm still monitarily recovering from my motor swap.

really nice. i love your description of the car and your goals. exactly the same as mine. i just bought my car almost 2 months ago. Same exact year, color and trim. bought it with 118k miles on it and it now has 121k, driving approximately 100 miles per day to work and back.

do you have any more plans for yours at the moment? looking foward to updates.

Well, other than a mild drop and new balljoints next year sometime, I'd like to do intake and header. I prefer the stock intake look, but I don't like how mine fits together - to mate up the d16y8 airbox to the gsr engine, I used an LS intake tube cut in half, and it doesn't fit quite right. I'd like to replace it with a powerchamber of some sort.

I'd also like gsr seats and an SI (not type R) grille - I want the one with the silver H on it. Does anyone know if the stock EX grill bezel will fit with the SI backing, so I don't have to paint a new bezel VSM?

Your story sounds a lot like mine. I've owned it 8 years and plan to own it another 8 or more.

Car looks good.

Nice setup. I have the same exact setup. VSM coupe haha. On a side note though, I didn't know those damn radio antennas go up that high!

Yep. used Rustoleum Wrinkle Red over the stock black. Still looks great, but I'm starting to see a few hairline cracks in it, and it didn't wrinkle quite the way I wanted it to. Will be trying aircraft stripper and VHT eventually when I do it again.

dunno, man, I don't get it either. It's not like anyone really slams fifth most of the time, so I have no idea why sychros would go on it. I can understand third though.

Just rolled over 200,000 miles the other day - Woot!

Right now I'm shopping for suspension to get after taxes come back. I really want Koni yellows and GC's, but I don't think I'm willing to spend that much. I'm considering more like Koni Reds and Eibach sportlines... or maybe KYB AGX's and sportlines.... or maybe the type I Form and Function coilovers.

Thing is, I don't want it really low because I still have to drive this thing in snow, and I like it to look a little stock. Anyone know something quality that rides decent and costs less than like $700?
