valve cover leaking, need some advice.
ok, turbo d16 on 15psi, valve cover wont stop leaking..
im currently thinking its because i may not have gotten all of the old oil off of the gasket prior to installing it again after my rocker arm replacement. and yes, i did put the silicone in all the corners
so my questions i need answered are:
1.) if there is still a trace of oil on the gasket will it not seal properly upon reinstallation?
2.) if a motor is boosted to 15psi do i need more than 1 breather? like, is there to much pressure getting built up under the valve cover and its just pushing oil out under the seal?
3.) if im running 5w20 and a turbo will the oil get so thin that its basically impossible to keep it under the cover? lol, changing oil tonight to a 5w40. grabbed 5w20 by accident instead of 5w30 but put it in anyway cuz im lazy, and therefor, stupid.

Silicone will kill an O2 sensor. It's best to use Honda-bond or equivalent.
A clean gasket and mating surfaces is always good. Proper torquing of the valve cover fasteners is important, too.
Don't have experience with boosting and the presure that may cause under the cover.
Using thicker oil to reduce leaks is foolish. You want to use the oil weight that is spec'd for your engine by the manufacturer.
Make sure the cover isn't warped or dented somehow.
