hello my name is jay. I just got my car back just had a head put on with skunk2 procams stage 1 and a aftermarket valvetrain. That was a week ago it was tune and everything but start slowly making this noise... i dont know what it is. I thought it was Lost motion but now i think it a bearing going bad. I park it the car is not my daily driver but please someone tell me and what steps i need to do to fix my car. Just tell me what steps i need to take

It sounds like you have someone else do the work...

I would take it back to them.

ya thats not good....its kinda hard to tell from the vid (cant tell if its coming from the top or bottom of the engine), but thats either a valve or 2 that needs adjusted or the early beginings of rod knock....if you paid a shop to put that stuff in, I would be taking it back to them immediately on a towtruck to have them fix their screwup...call them and let them know your coming back

 

yeah if its the beginning of a bad rod bearing thats and easy fix right and cheap fix right?

 

if it the early beginning of rod knock and you can catch the bad bearing before it start to mess up stuff thats and easy fix right? All you will do is drop the oil pan and replace the bearing on the rod and crank right? I dont know that why am asking.. ha ha LOL

 

The crank is going to have to be pulled out. It's not as simple as you're hoping...

 

Personaly I would never just change the bearing... and move on...

if its banging around.. you are going to at least need to have your crank ground (and maybe rods)...
and have new bearings installed all around...
