Default Transmission

hey i got a 1993 civic si coupe 1.6L non-vtec and im having some transmission problems. i was woundering if i could replace it with the v-tec transmission? I was hearing alot about the diffrence in gear rartios... got any recomendations?

Any D series transmission from 1992-2000 will work. The vtec trannys do have better acceleration compared to the non-vtec ones and are cheap as can be.

if you have a Si it is a D16Z6 which is V-Tec it just don't say it on the valve cover. and you can only use 92-95 civic trannys. the only diffrences is the gear ratios. the ex is the best tranny i believe. and the 96-2000 have more sensors and wont work on your year.
