Default JDM DC5 Type R Valve Cover, will it fit our K20Z3?

Wanted to pick up this combo along with the Black Dip Stick.

http://yhst-1408381693991.stor....html

Will this fit without any modifications? Thanks for the help. I also had no luck finding anything under search for this forum.

it will fit but it is missing the holes to screw in the wire mount on the right side of the valve cover. its better to get the stock valve cover powder coated but if you dont mind you can just zip tie them to something to keep them from moving.

Hey SIVIC, can you post a pic of yours. Especially since your car is NHBP. Thanks in advance.

Nice!! Thanks for the pics SIVIC. So on a scale of 1 to 10 how hard was the install? Did you use your old gasket or get a new one?

There used to be a thread for installing this valve cover in the former FAQ section by BlueRocket. It seemed to be pretty straight forward. Does anyone have a link to the old FAQ?

You just have to search for archived threads created by Blue Rocket.
His images aren't there anymore, but there's a link to another DIY.
Between the two threads and SIVIC 3's pics, I'm sure you can figure it out.

install would be a 3/10. you need to remove the cowel and the upper metal subframe.

I posted on 8th Civic forum.

The K20A CTR valve cover has "Honda Motor Co. Ltd." on it, based on Honda Japan's very own website.

So, unless your "CTR" valve cover has that, it's not actually authentic. But, if you're just looking for the wrinkle red, then it wouldn't matter.

That looks awesome--also a lot easier than painting the valve cover

I never said yours wasn't authentic. I said that if you think you have a CTR valve cover, yet it does not say "Honda Motor Co. Ltd.," then it's not authentic. This obviously does not apply to you because you have a valve cover from a DC5 ITR. I don't believe I quoted you, meaning that my comment was a general comment for everyone reading the thread.

I guess the reason I mentioned the CTR valve cover was because people say the DC5 ITR valve cover does not have holes threaded for the bracket on the side. Thus, people are letting those hoses hang freely or zip-tying them. That's one of the reason why I'm not really going to get the DC5 ITR valve cover, even though it does look very good on your car. I just want all the threaded holes to be on it. Kinda' picky like that. Perhaps the CTR valve cover does have the threaded holes. Not sure. Anyone know?
