pro's & con's for having a knife-edged crank ?
I know a few pro's for having a knife-edge'd crank are, picks up quicker and cuts thru the oil better...what are more pro's & con's if any ?
im considering picking up a knife-edge'd LS crank already balanaced by JG for 250 is it worth it ?

Thats a pretty good price. Just the machine work would cost that much, but you still need to get it balanced for the pistons, rods, clutch, crank pulley, flywheel, etc. that you are going to use on your build up.

uhm, ina honda...the crank isnt sitting in oil. so knife edging wouls be used primarily to lighten it.
Theres the whole Weight vs Strength Debate...
Personally, I would buy a used crank...unless you can inspect it beforehand.

i know in the b18c1 engines they have a windage tray,, which prevents the oil from getting smacked around by the crank, the purpose of knife edging a crank, besides the wieght aspect, is so it can cut through the oil when/if it should hit the crank without slowing the engine down or airating the oil. if the LS has a windage tray, i wouldnt bother knife edging it unless you just wanted less rotational weight, which will help you. just my 2 pennies.
