Default H & R Sport Spring Question

I have noticed that there are two Sport Spring kits from H & R that will fit the EK chassis.

One is part # 51865 for the 96-00 EK models

The other is part # 51865-2 for the 99-00 EM1 models

Does anybody know if there is any difference between the two?

I read on a different board that the spring rates for the H & R sports are 330 Front, and 280 Rear, both progressive rate. Does anybody know if this is accurate and if that is for the set for the regular EK, or for the EM1, or are they both the same?

I will call H & R and see if they can tell me.

If I get an answer I will post it.

I called H & R, and their response was kind of weak.

I did find out that the 51865 and 51865-2 kits are a little different. They use different front springs. The rear springs are the same.

They said the kit for the EM1 / Si models had the stiffer front springs.

When I asked him about the spring rates, he told me they didn't rate the sport springs.

That was WEAK, because obviously they have to know the spring rates in order to wind them. He could sense my skepticism so he told me a whole bunch of stuff about how they don't list them because there is not a standardized measurement system.

Anyway, when I told him that I was looking for springs that were stiffer then the Eibach Pro-Kits, he told me that the H&R sports would probably be about the same. That's not really what I was looking for, plus it didn't sound like he really knew. It sounded like he was taking a guess and saying all sport springs were about the same.

Anybody have any experience between an Eibach Pro-Kit and a set of H&R sports as far as which is stiffer?
