Default 23 to 26 spline hub swap

Well I tried searcing but couldnt find an answer....

On my 88 DX spindles: can i just press out the 23 spline hub and press in a 26 spline hub? I know the bearings are the same so the hub would press in for sure, just wondering if anyone has tried this and had any issues.

Go forth and prosper, if the bearings are the same the hubs will be interchangeable.

Gonna see if there are any 92+ civics at pullapart saturday, hopefully i can get 2 hubs and give it a try I think this hub swap and the 10.2" brake upgrade with the acc wagon caliper/bracket and 92-95 civic rotors are the plan on my dx spindles

I can't verify the dimensions of the EG hub in relation to the 88-91 hubs, so you may be in uncharted territory. Are the wheel bearings ID the same?

yes, civics all seem to have the same wheel bearings, it is the integras that have the larger wheel bearing - hence the reason you turn down an 5-lug ITR hub when using a civic spindle (and bearing)

I'll be happy to try it out if find a pair of 26 spline hubs

now im confused, took the axel out of the driver side and its 26 spline, gotta see what the rh is, prob 26 too. Slid a 92+ 26spline axel right into it. Wonder if my 88 4dr DX civic had spindles swapped in it. The rotors are 9.5", 26spline, and they say like rh3-3 and lh3-3 on them.

I thought all CRX and Civic hubs had the same spline patterns as integra with the exception of the old 4spd STD model....?
