Debating between GReddy Type-S and Blitz SS BOV's..
I kinda need your help guys....The thing is...Blitz BOV's sound sweet on SR20DET's...but I really really love the sound of the Type-S over anything..I kinda like that bird chirping sound and I know that both are pretty loud...From my experience, I believe that the Type-S is louder than the Blitz...But then again I'm not too sure and thats why Im asking you good people..Anyways, I'm getting an SR and puting it in a 240 and Im just wondering which you guys would perfer...The thing is I heard that the Type-S is laggy and doesnt get the job done right..but then again, many people have the Type-S and they dont seem to be complaining..I was also thinking about the TurboXS RFL BOV but I'm guessing/assuming its just to be loud and it MIGHT not fuction as well as others..but thats just my opinion..I need your help..what do you all suggest?

Thanks for the opinion...I dont have a BOV yet..Im still awaiting my new car...but anyways, how come you dont like the Blitz? I wanna hear TurboXS RFL's bov so bad..I heard it the loudest out of all of them, and I know TurboXS is a good company, but is the RFL BOV a good functioning BOV to get? I'm just debating on 3 of them...Blitz..GReddy Type-S and the TurboXS RFL....I want function but Id like it to sound nice and loud at the same time.
I haven't gone turbo, YET, but when I do it'll be with the HKS SSBV. It has that bird chirping sound and I've heard the functionality is great. Any comments from anyone on the HKS SSBV?

Hey guys, what about functionality...does that not count..All i ever hear is how they sound but how do they perform? Does anyone know of ones that have fallen apart or leak? I've heard Greddy isn't that reliable..I've heard that HKS makes one that is almost leak proof...Can anyone back this up or dispute from personal experience..I'm not too concerned with sound..Don't get me wrong, if I were to rate just the sound, then I would say Greddy Type S, HKS SSBV. Blitz, XS Turbo, Apexi...But someone please give me insight on how these things have performed.
Man all I hear is people commenting on Greddy Type S bird sound. All I hear is a nice whoosh, or sneeze, no birds in my bay. I also have a Type R with standard spring sitting on a shelf. It's for lower boost applications, basicly R casing with S functionality. One problem where I had my BOV mounted it won't clear the distributor, so I'm SOL, unless I move the BOV location. Anyone want it? Paid $150 would sell for that. Later Allen
i did research and i've owned the type-s. blitz dd makes a deep wooosh sound. type-s whistles/chirps etc. the type-s can be hard a block away. the turboxs type rfl (really fuggin loud) needs at least 10psi to function properly. i have seen a 3000gt vr4 with one of those suckers... and it lives up to its name. you can hear it from very far distances. remember, the greddy type-s is the most commonly owned bov, so i would get the blitz dd just to sound a bit more original.
how bout the older blitz bov's? i recently bought a used older model e w/ the horn instead of the smaller horn that can be swapped w/ the breather/muffler looking things on the newer ones.
HKS SSQV is the way to go. That's what I have on my car. The sound is kinda high pitched and "chirpy" but it works great, and does not leak. My friend's WRX has a Turbo XS H-RFL...it's very loud, but doesn't not work and actually kills power. The valve gets stuck open sometimes. Same with the Blitz, it's good for sound, but not performance. I'd get an HKS if I were you.

herm...well since people like the loud ones...which bov is the quietest one out there? I'm looking at the vortec bov...so far the clips i've heard of it is pretty quiet..and gets a bit loud when you start pounding on it. Anyone know where i can pick one of these up...seems like theres not alot of vortech dealers out there.
I love my turboxs RFL...no problems with it. No leaks, holds the boost, functions perfect, also sounds awesome. Used to have a hks ss, worked great too

if you don't mind me asking, why the change from hks to turbo xs? was it cause you just wanted something louder..Also, is the turbo xs that much louder than the hks...You'd be the best to answer since you had both on your own car

My Blitz BOV works great <at 7psi> but I wish it was just a little louder. I removed the nose piece but that didn't seem to help. I heard the trumpet nose piece will make it louder but I cannot seem to find one. Anyone know where to find one?
My friend has the Greddy type s on his Si <boosting only 5psi> and he likes to scare people walking down the sidewalk. See someone walking up ahead drop down a gear then spool up and.......CHA CHING!!! You should see these people jump. Funny stuff. hehe lol
Greddy Type S if you want to be heard.
