rear axle question ?

Default rear axle question ?

hey guys, went and got the oil changed today in my 98 civic dx, auto, they said i had a leak in my rear axle. i'm just wonderin if this is a common prob with the civics, or just how serious is this leak , and how much would it cost to fix this problem? thanks guys

No rear axle on a civic. Maybe they meant front axle. Jack the car up and look at the inner and out CV boots on the axles and see if theyre cracked or torn and if theres grease leaking out.

you got a 9 inch rear end or somethin? civics dont have rear axles. all that is back there is a few barrings.

could you be thinking of the rear main seal, which is a common leaking point.

They could have meant that the drums were leaking... Jack the car up and have a look.
