I have a 91 integ. I hear people bleeding their brakes two different ways. Which one is the most correct way?

First way:

bleed screw should be open when pumping the brake. When air bubbles are not seen, assistant holds the pedal down to the floor while you close the bleed screw.

Or:

bleed screw should be wrench tight while assistant is pumping the brake. After pumping three to four times you untighted the screw which lets the fluid flow out with no air bubbles. When brake pedal reaches the floor, you tighten the bleed screw.

So question is, should the bleed screw be tight while pumping or open while pumping? Thanks

Screw should be tight to build pressure.

 

If it isn't tight, all you'll do is spray brake fluid everywhere and most likely get more air because it'll drain so fast from the MC.

 

It is much easier to do when you have two people.
First thing you do is fill up the brake system as much as you can with fluid through the master cylinder. You want to continually check the level at the master cyl as you bleed the system because it will go down as you bleed the system.
Start at the passenger side rear, then drivers side rear, passenger side front, drivers side front.
Have your partner sit in the car and pump the pedal slowly until pressure builds up. Open the valve gently until it comes out steady without air bubbles.
Repeat those steps in the order of brakes listed above.
It takes a long LONG time and its a huge pain in the ***.
