how do i remove the rotor after i have taken of the dis. cap and i cant seem to find the retaining screw

Worst case scenario is that you can remove the distributor completely by removing the (3) 12mm bolts and the CYP/TDC/CKP sensor harnesses.
It'll allow you to get more leverage on the screw.
Just make sure you reinstall it with the proper original orientation as when you took it off.
