Default clutch issue

hey guys,

lately ive noticed that when i shift i have to wait about a second or two before i can shift it into gear, if i dont wait its like im forcing it to go into gear a little bit, and when im shifting it'll grind 3rd gear sometimes, now my pushing my clutch pedal to the floor, its disengaging, but not sure if it 100% , is this a sign that i need a new clutch???? my pedal is not loose its not exactly HARD, but firm through out the clutch throw, my clutc fluid did run out about 2 months back , i put more brake fluid in there and it seemed to go back to normal, this problem just started about a week or so ago , and it seems like its getting worse.... do i need a new clutch? or just to bleed my clutch

A common problem with hydro integras is the clutch master cylinder leaking on the inside under the dash where the master cylinder comes through the firewall. One thing that made me think this is that you said you ran out of fluid not too long ago. Remember that your clutch does not "use" fluid under normal driving conditions, so if it ran out, there must be an issue even though it may be very small. I would check this first before looking deeper into your clutch issue. Good luck!

by hydro, I mean hydraulic transmission integras. To fix this issue, you need a clutch master cylinder...its about $40 on Ebay, and it takes abo0ut 30 - 60 minutes to change it out. Good luck!

look for moisture on the firewall just behind the clutch pedal... If there is fluid, then its probably the master clutch cylinder...

That is a sure sign of a problem with the master cylinder...other things could also be bad, but thats a good place to start. As for problems...the problem with any car is that most owners (ie. the previous owner in your case) probably did not take good enough care of the car...as second, third, fourth, etc. owners of these older cars, we inherit all of the issues that were never taken care of. Just my opinion. Remember most of us are buying cars that are 10+ years old. Take a look at a ford or chevy thats 10 plus years old with 150+ thousand miles on it, and you'll notice a lot more problems than a faulty drain for the sunroof, and leaky clutch master cylinders. Good luck on your adventure!
