Default TDC question

If either the cam or crank pully is off a bit of TDC, what are usually the issues you would encounter, or more or less how would the car feel or drive?

Loss of power, noticable spark knock/detonation, sluggish to rev up.

Why do you ask?

What year/make/model is the car and engine?

Well with Vitara pistons you're at a pretty crazy low compression ratio, so it won't have much power until you boost it through the roof.
