Default Transmission code question. do i have a GSR tranny?

whats the GSR transmission code? judging by the VIN plate i think i ended up with an LS tranny.

GSR is DC2 correct? well the VIN plate on my tranny says DC4. wich would indicate B18B1, right?

so to properly verify this i need to know the transmission code for an LS and a GSR tranny.

Not quite sure, but can you drive it to let us know what RPM it's turning in a specific gear at a specific speed?

depending on the year...
DC2 = C1/C5
DC4 = B1

but that's doesn't mean that's what's in the case.

Is there anything stamped on the side of the trans? larger black lettering up/left from the clutch slave. (Y80? S80?)
what do you see when looking through the axle holes?

Run the VIN at carfax.com and it will tell you the make and model for free.

i already know the make model and year cause i already read the vin. what i want to know is what a S80 is. if its a GSR or an LS. the VIN and the transmission code are on two separate parts of the transmission. knowing the transmission was taken apart someone could of just as easily slipped a GSR gear housing on to an LS clutch housing so basically what im saying is the VIN means nothing at this point its all on the gear housing. so S80. what is it?
