ok so im doing a bit of research for my little brother. He drives a 97 integra gsr. I KNOW THIS IS A CIVIC FORUM! BUT!! I also happen to know that the engine is a b18c1 and that there are PLENTY of civics out there with this engine swapped in. Plus quite frankly i would trust a civic owners advice over an integras owner. Car is stock except for a CAI. The car has great top end power, but from a stop up untill just over 3k rpms the car goes NOWHERE. Figuratively that is. to give you some perspective, i drive a 2000 civic dx, and from a dig, my car pulls 1 cl untill his vtec kicks in. no joke. Now i just thought, oh well ur car is heavy, thats what you get for owning an integra, but as i have driven it around and done some work here and there, i noticed funny things, first it smelled like something was burning, so we changed tranny fluid and oil, and checked his brakes, and the smell is still there, second, there is a unusually loud "clicking/squeaking" noise that seems to be coming from the engine right by the dizzy, near the #4 cylinder/clutch area, third, the CAI, would this hurt the low end power if he has no exhaust/headers besides stock? tell me what you think our next step should be?
