IMHO.. an intake is an intake.. i wouldn't pay a whole lot of money for a name brand intake.. just pick up a short ram off of ebay or here in the marketplace.. I would make sure you get a good filter at least though.. such as k&n, etc.

Also i would avoid going with a cold air intake.. not worth the chance of being caught out in the rain running thru some big puddles and sucking up water and hydrolocking your engine.

stock air box is as good as it gets cold air is going to draw air from where your stock box already does and its going to be harder to clean the filter. soo spend 100 bucks and by a k&n air filter and call it a wrap.

just get an AEM shortram...they look good for show and they do their job. i think about $120 bucks, maybe cheaper...comes with a decent cone filter.

EBAY intakes FTW. Cheap and it does it's job. Mine was like $25 at most. No problems with it yet.

Read the tons of boring threads on intakes, or just read about intake length/diameter and what powerbands they support.

I'd reccomend a long ram/cai. Don't worry about the waterlocking issue, just use your brain and turn the tube into a two piece intake. Get coupler and be done with it.

Then you can also satsify those who think a short ram is better for a stock ls

Is K&N's Air Filter better than AEM's?

I don't like Oil based filters like the K&N.
AEM uses a dry flow filter now.
Amsoil has nice filters too.

I have a cold air intake and the filters been dipped in water a few times. It wont suck up water unless its completely submersed. Air is easier to suck up then water so aslong as theres enough surface not under the water it will suck the air instead.

The tube loops back up to next to the airbox coming out of the fender. If you have abs its right next to it in the fender... It still draws air from inside the engine bay.

Ding Ding Ding, why you have to remove all the stock air box components when you buy a CAI.

DA integras also possess a resonator box.

Go to pepboys and buy a velocity stack. And then make your own filter for it. Or u can buy BLOX velocity stack with filter. A lot cheaper and works better than any ebay intake.

Spent $18 off ebay for a short ram. Why spend all that money for maybe a few horsepower?

Plus I knew I was working on getting parts for my build at the time, so I knew I would only be using it for a short time.

Get the Mugen, if you can't afford it get a Comptech and if you can't afford that get an AEM CAI. Don't bother with the V2.
