help! intake :)
so i just got my 96 acura integra and i want to get a intake but dont know which one i should get. i was thinking of getting a long ram, but i'm from Pennsylvania and do you guys have any suggestions?
thanks.
thanks.
IMHO.. an intake is an intake.. i wouldn't pay a whole lot of money for a name brand intake.. just pick up a short ram off of ebay or here in the marketplace.. I would make sure you get a good filter at least though.. such as k&n, etc.
Also i would avoid going with a cold air intake.. not worth the chance of being caught out in the rain running thru some big puddles and sucking up water and hydrolocking your engine.

I've have an ebay cold air intake on my DA and as far as water goes im not too worried because it lituarrally has to be dipped in water from what i've been told plus I have a spare short jus in case...
stock air box is as good as it gets cold air is going to draw air from where your stock box already does and its going to be harder to clean the filter. soo spend 100 bucks and by a k&n air filter and call it a wrap.

Do you even know where your stock air box draws air from???
And $100 for a kn filter???
You got ripped off.

Read the tons of boring threads on intakes, or just read about intake length/diameter and what powerbands they support.
I'd reccomend a long ram/cai. Don't worry about the waterlocking issue, just use your brain and turn the tube into a two piece intake. Get coupler and be done with it.
Then you can also satsify those who think a short ram is better for a stock ls

Is K&N's Air Filter better than AEM's?

I have a cold air intake and the filters been dipped in water a few times. It wont suck up water unless its completely submersed. Air is easier to suck up then water so aslong as theres enough surface not under the water it will suck the air instead.
100 bux i dont know i bought mine 3 years ago probably paid 75 but hey close enough. and yes the stock air box draws air from the wheel well last time i checked whens the last time you checked.
EBAY FTW
worst thing i've heard from e-bay intakes my friend took his out and dropped it and it cracked it and then he just cut it and what not and put it back into his car and made it into a short ram XDD

The tube loops back up to next to the airbox coming out of the fender. If you have abs its right next to it in the fender... It still draws air from inside the engine bay.

Ding Ding Ding, why you have to remove all the stock air box components when you buy a CAI.

Go to pepboys and buy a velocity stack. And then make your own filter for it. Or u can buy BLOX velocity stack with filter. A lot cheaper and works better than any ebay intake.
Spent $18 off ebay for a short ram. Why spend all that money for maybe a few horsepower?
Plus I knew I was working on getting parts for my build at the time, so I knew I would only be using it for a short time.
