Default car shutting off while driving.

I drive a 5 speed 98 prelude. Howcome sometimes when i switch gears while driving, my car shuts off and i would have to start my car again. WHY?

What speed does it usually turn off at? Does the rpm drop lower than idle rpm(between shifts) and turns off? or does the engine shut off at higher rpm?

hmm lower rpm i think. but i just drove my car more tonite and it didnt shut off. so i m confused.

Wow that sounds very very odd. I would assume it could be some sort of idle controller such as the IACV or TB idle screw needs adjustment. Really it could be your main relay even. To me this problem seems pretty odd though, I hope you find out the problem.

Definitely the ignition switch recall...Mine did that and once it started doing it more frequently, it wouldn't even start except once and a while. It's free at the honda dealerships and takes like an hour or so to do...

Hey i got a question for your, my girlfriend has a similar problem with her 97 lude, while driving when she shifts sometimes her tach will drop to 0 and her lights and deck turn off for a second and i was just wondering if any of the symptons are similar

yea mine did dat. Before it was wen i used a/c but now it does it wen i dont turn a/c on. But for da past 10 days it havent done is maybe i m good....
