Help with exhaust system
Hey guys...i just need some feedback regarding my purchase of a new exhaust system...This is the story:
Car: 2000 Integra GSR
Current mods: AEM v2, DC sport 4-2-1 header, stock cat, stock gsr b pipe, ITR axleback
In the near future, probably in about 4 months or so, I will be boosting the car, however, Im in the process of buying an exhaust now. Yes yes i know, the exhaust should be the last thing you put on a turbo car, but, i need to get a new exhaust now anyway since my piping is rusted/cracked. I figured why not just get the 3 inch Thermal R&D, and slap it on the car for the meantime. Im gonna have to buy an exhaust anyway, so theres no point in buying a 2.5 inch now just to keep it on for a couple of months.
My question is: how will this 3 inch exhaust react with a T1R 4-2-1 header 2.5 inch collector, 2.5 inch inlet/ 3 inch outlet SMSP high flow cat??
I know from pictures and reading, that i will lose some backpressure, but can it be driveable on the street without any significant problems at low rpms?
Also, the Thermal does NOT have resonator on the b pipe, so im curious to know if it will be insanely loud until i get the turbo put on. I mean its only about 4-6 months until I will be boosted, but i just want to make sure...I know a 3 inch on a NA car cant sound that good, but i have no choice since my exhaust is practically falling apart...
Any help will be greatly appreciated...

i think you ll be ok going with a 3" cat back. as for the resonator i dont think it will be abnoxiously loud...believe it or not, my buddy has greddy evo2 full catback on his LS (with a resonator) and i have custom pipe with evo2 can (no resonator) and his was alot louder than mine until i did a port and polish on my head. if anything you ll probably just sound like a fart machine.
sounding like a fart can is the problem lol im trying my best to avoid that...thats why i need people that have had experiences with no resonators and 3 inch exhaust systems to chime in....

Why do you care? If I was in your shoes, I would try and make my car sounds like a fart can. People will see your car around and think it's slow and loud. Then you get the turbo set up and BAM!!
What are your plans for the engine?

Yea for the meantime i would like for the car to sound ok...lol i dont wanna annoy anyone on the street, being a 3 inch exhaust on a NA car is gonna be stupid loud...at least if its a nice loud, i could deal with it..lol. but that fart can noise, nope i cant handle that...
As for the motor...the block will be cleaned, 81.25 CP 10.0:1 pistons, stock everything else...The head will be fitted with all brand OEM components, and make sure that everything is working right and that everything is new. Im not trying to make this a crazy build...just something mild for the street and occasional track use...
The turbo kit will consist of a Full Race Ramhorn manifold, Garrett t3/t04 .57 trim, .63 A.R., Greddy type S bov, Spearco or Precision intercooler and piping, Tial 44mm wastegate, Full Race 3 inch downpipe, RC 440cc injectors, Greddy Turbo timer, Electronic cutout, Thermal r&d 3 inch exhaust, p28 OBDI ecu tuned with either Hondata s300 or Neptune...
Im trying to break 350whp, so hopefully that will satisfy enough...until i have some more money to build the motor the right way
