I have a b16
s80 hydro transmission out of an integra gsr

I have shift linkage from a d-series hydro transmission(94 civic)

Are they compatible? A search didn't yield much info, just that folks try to source b-series linkage.

Reason for asking, is the motor is going into a 61 Morris mini, so obviously I have to fab up mounts etc. The plan was to be cutting the rods to make it fit in the car.
It looks like it'll work.
Is the reason people swap them out, the length of the rods relative to the chassis it's in?
I'm curious to know why d-series linkage doesn't work with a b transmission.

 

i know when you swap a d to a b you have to change the linkages...not sure if its where it bolts to the tranny or the floor of the car. but as far as i know....no they are not compatible.

 

Well if the problem is where it bolts to the car.....then that won't be a problem for me. Since that has to be custom built...I can take care of that.

If it is where it bolts to the tranny...then that could be a problem.

 

B-series linkage is longer, and I believe they way the stabilizer bar bolts to the tranny is different, don't quote me on that last one though.

it is longer. and the fork is skinner. you need b-series.

 

The linkages are different at the tranny itself. You will need B linkages, or at least the ends of them that bolt to the transmission.

Hypothetically, is it POSSIBLE to use a d-series shift linkage on a b-series tranny? I bought an eg with a b18 and 1st 3rd and 5th are where neutral ought to be, neutral- 2nd, 4th, R, and 2nd, 4th, R made its own spot way down low. Everything shifts fine, except 2nd gear it fights you a little.

Thats what i want to know too. I am short on cash and NEED to get this swap done. (i didnt do my research enough before i started this project and now im in a hole) Can i lengthen the D15 shift linkage and some way attach it to the trany and use it? i found the lengths of the D15 but not the B18 im putting in.

It turns out I did have a d-series linkage on there. So a d-series will work, but it's like everyone says, "Do it right or don't do it all". Ok. did some work on my car today. (91 CRX DX) The D15 linkages are shorter ( i dont know by how much, i will let you guys know when i cut and weld mine). /BUT/ the linkage for the shifter will fit /it is too short, dont forget that/ on the B18 (im putting a B18a1 in). It slides in, and the be-otch pin goes in as fine as it could. The stabilizer bar is the one that doesnt fit. This is what i did/doing ( i know its ghetto but whatever i dont have a bunch of cash) There is a peg that comes out of the transmission that the stabilizer bar slides over, the problem is the rubber fitting thing in the stabilizer bar. it is too big/ doesnt have a big enough hole to slide over the peg. I removed the rubber fitting and covered the peg with electrical tape until it was the size of the hole in the stabilizer bar (AFTER i removed the rubber fitting). I will need to put a large washer over the peg on the trany when i bolt it in though. I will cut/weld to length the D15 linkage bars to fit on the B18 and let you all know and also upload some pics so its easier to understand.

 

You should be in the EF forum. The crx can use either a shortened 90-93 DA Integra shift linkage, or a stock jdm SiR EF linkage to work properly.

 

Now does anyone know if the bushings are the same?
