My friend and I changed my tranny fluid last week at the Chevy dealer where he works. We had my car on the lift, drained the old tranny fluid out, and then refilled it using a small hand pump with a tube on the end. The pump holds 1/2 qt. of fluid, so we had to fill it 5 times. You can also get funnels from auto parts stores w/ a long skinny flexible tube on the end, made just for filling transmissions.

I used a long skinny flexible tube on the end of a funnel. I had my dad help me. He held the end of the funnel and poured the MTF in while I held the other end in the filler hole. It just makes it easier to have a buddy.
I just went to the hardware store and bought some clear flexible tubing (10ft section ~$2.00) that was 1/2" ID pushed it onto my funnel and cut to length (~2.5 ft I think)
worked great.
worked great.
10w30 oil in tranny=Unhappy syncros
Just curious...What weight should you use?

Q. Why must I use Honda-brand transmission fluid in my manual transmission?
A. Like the Honda vehicles for which it's formulated, the Genuine Honda manual transmission fluid has undergone an exhaustive and exacting research and development program. When tested against competitors, it demonstrated superior lubricity in an actual Honda 5-speed transmission. And even at -20°C, it clearly performed significantly better than leading competitors.
Genuine Honda manual transmission fluid is designed for smooth engagement of the synchronizers in the transmission; this maximizes smooth gear engagement and prolongs component durability.
Always use Genuine Honda manual transmission fluid. If Honda MTF is not available, you may use an API service SG, SH or SJ grade motor oil with a viscosity of SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 as a temporary replacement.
However, motor oil does not contain the proper additives and continued use may cause stiffer shifting. Replace as soon as convenient.

One man job, easy as pie
As for the weight/viscosity, Honda MTF is a 10w30 fluid, but like was stated, is formulated for proper synchro operation (which requires friction to work efficiently).
i just got a pump that inserts into the bottle of MTF and there is about 2-3 ft of clear vinyl flexible tubing... you just route the tubing to the filler whole and pump the fluid in.. I got that pump at the autopart store for under $5.. works for me...
Get 3 qts honda mtf, a 2 dollar funnel and 3/8 clear hose...snake hose down through engine compartment and gravity fill. Easy as sheat!!!
