Default Is 500whp on 93 octane possible w/ GT30xxR?

After not having a modded car for the past year, I am finally getting back into the Honda game and buying my friends 92 Si Hatch and I'm trying to debate on a good turbo setup for the car. I tried searching and couldn't come up with any info that I needed.

My goal with the car is to be able to make 500whp on 93 Octane, and have full spool by 5000 rpms. Are any of the GT30R-based turbochargers capable of this? I figured that the more displacement and airflow coming from the engine possible would make this easier. The car will be coming with a B18B engine swap, but I also have access to buying a JDM H22a swap, and have already completed that swap in 5 cars so I'm very familiar with it.

The 3 engine choices I was going with are a 84mm LS/Vtec, Sleeved H22a or Sleeved K20A2. I know that the K-series have the best flowing head of the 3, while the H-series has the most displacement. The guy I am getting the car from is running a sleeved H23/Vtec setup using a Ebay "Super T70" and it is a response monster! Torque for days!

I just don't want to have to look for race gas everytime I want to go fast, nothing more disappointing to looking forward to some track or street action only to find out the local pumps are out!

So, any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance

i'd venture to say that almost any of the gt30r's are capable of 500whp. but doing it on pump gas is probably unsafe.

tune for race gas and run it at the track when its redily available. turn the boost down and run pump gas on the street. the car is gonna be fun either way

The reason I don't want to tune for race gas is because when the car is done, it will probably only see the 1/4 mile track once a year to see what the fastest time I can get it is. Our street scene here is pretty good so it would see 98% street and 2% track time. I want it to be all power, all the time.

I considered methanol injection since it's readily available when I need it, but most people just use higher octane fuels on Hondas I've noticed. Seems to work for the Subaru/Mitsubishi guys!

Well the B18 will need a good amount of work to repeat the linked motor, but its definately possible. If you have access to E85, its even more possible. The H22 would really help, but will also need some help to hit 500whp. You could go with a K24 hybrid, but at that point (as money goes) you could also get plenty of headwork or sleeves done to the b-series. Given some people have come close to 300whp on k24 combos with 100% factory parts NA, 500 with a good turbo setup should not be an issue with some aftermarket gear.

Water Injection if you wanna stay on pump. I'm on 94 Octane with water injection. .86 GT35R, 38psi. 141mph traps.

350+ on the street is more than enough, trust me.

The GT3076R (.63A/R) is capable of 525whp, but it's breathing a little heavy up there. Go to a .82A/R or higher, and you'll go farther. On my last setup, a 81.5MM PoorMan's R, we made 400+ and the car was a handful.

If you want my opinion, go B-Series. I'm partial, but it's what I know. Full 17psi at 4500 is fun. On a 2.0L, it would be insane. Look up user sp00led's car. It made me go with that turbo.

That said, if you're bent on 500whp, I know for a fact a sleeved K can do it, but it's not cheap.

I've seen a couple stock K's push 500whp on gt35r's a sleeved k will definitely more than hold. To get the engine in it's not cheap after that sleeving and all that is all the same price anyways.

I've seen a B18 500whp on 93. You'll need a good tuner, but it can be done.
Isn't there a couple twin-scroll GT30R's out there? Definitely would help the spool up time.

im running a built b16 with a 3076r (.63 a/r) on 8psi pushing 400+ whp on a conservative tune on 94 octane. For a street car its a complete shitfight through boost.

actually what would be the spool difference from a 3076r .82 compared to a 35r with a .63 ar?
