We can't make the choice for you. You should know the pros and cons of each side and decide for yourself. I'd give you my advice but it shouldn't matter.

I used to work for Honda and right now work for Mazda. I have always modded my cars with no worries. When I worked at Honda I noticed they were only fussy with people would modded their cars and in doing that ruined something.
If you are doing the easy bolt ons: I, H, E you should be fine

If you go to the dealer with a blown engine with 1000 miles and an aftermarket intake, you're SOL. Why should Honda be liable for aftermarket parts? Especially a filter...
You could just do what most with warranties do and swap the stock parts back on when you get the car worked on at the dealer.

dealership gave me brand new head an head gasket even after modding......it all depends on it you know somebody at the dealership but its up to you im not makin the decision 4 u
It really does depend on the dealership, some wont have a problem with modded cars others will. If you wanna be on the safe side, mod your car and keep the stock parts and put them on if ur bringing into to the dealership to get work done.

This isn't true at all. The topic of aftermarket parts and retaining warranty is covered so much on here, I don't know why this rumor still keeps floating around.
If you go to the dealer with a blown engine and an aftermarket intake, they have to prove that the intake contributed to your engine blowing. If they refuse to, you have every right to fight it, either at the dealership or in court.
If they read your ECU and see that you over-revved causing the engine to blow, THAT will void the warranty. I can only see modifications as increasing their suspicion that you "race" your car, or crack mad 'tec.
Mod your RSX wisely, your warranty cannot be "voided" unless your parts directly cause something to break.

There are a select few intakes Honda will back. None of which are CAIs.
(this all coming from my cousin who works at a dealership)

Every dealership will be different. Point is, if any of them really wanted to void your warranty for the smalled engine mod, there wouldn't be much you could do about it to stop them. Some dealerships will give you a hard time, some will be more forgiving, but they do have the right, depending on what is stated in your warranty contract, to void if modifications are done.

intake is part of the engine, so changing that to an aftermarket one will technically void the warranty. IIRC, it's the magnusson act that says that only parts that were changed can only void a warranty based on the stuff it actually affects. changing springs will just void the suspensions warranty and your engine will be fine.

Thread Starter,
I have been through this with my spider gears when I broke down at the track. According to Honda/Acura America, any time you take your vehicle above the manufacturers means, then you are voiding warranty. If THEY, as in dealership can prove that your vehicle malfunctioned due to the aftermarket part installed, then that voids warranty. Going to the drag strip, autocross event, etc etc, voids warranty. I went through this whole ordeal with my 06' Type-S 10,000 miles. So from personal experience, I don't care for a warranty. GL and hope my past experience has helped you decide on what you want to do. - John
