Default Do i need a retune or just Aem Wideband

Hello,

So im in a bind and i dont know what to do cuz im new to the import market but i know some stuff. But heres what i got a 2000 civic si with b16 and all bolt on's Aem rail, pressure regulators and rc 310 injectors and a p28 ecu and i bought the car used so idk if it has been tuned or not but i know it can get better mileage but the other bolt ons are skunk throttle body and intake u get it all that kinda stuff, anyway im only getting like 25mpg and it does run rich cuz there is a little black smoke and deposits that show up on the trunk and stuff. Also if u drive it for a bit and go in neutral and let it come to an ideal it will sit around 1500 to 2000 rpm and go up and down, this is not all the time. And another thing is it will like miss or hick up when u are driving it. the last thing is when i fuel it up then restart it it will act odd and ideal at 500 to 750 and sputter i think this is cuz of it running to rich.
So what i want to know is do i need a retune or not or is there something else that i can do to fix the problem with out a computer or should i just buy a Aem Wideband to adjust the air fuel.

Thankx

definitely sounds like you need a tune. with a tune it will run a lot smoother since it won't be knocking as much. Also you mileage should be better than 25mpg. with a tuned GSR i had about 29-30mpg easy.

But in order to tune do you have a chipped P28? or some AFC?

yeah well it has to be chipped cuz it has a hondata number on it and obd1 to ob2 jumper, and the guy i was looking at doing it was going to use crome to tune it, but would a Aem wideband still be worth it
