Default Running my first meth kit, need advice.

At first I'm reading it, I'm all gunho about running 99.9% Meth through the system, just jamming as much in there as I can. But I'm sitting in bed last night cuddling my kit and whispering sweet nothings to it and thinking; well meth is only 100 octane, I'll be shooting it through a 550cc jet, I've got six 650cc injectors running at about 80% duty cycle, meaning the actual amount of methonal per gas will be crap. Thinking about this with no math involved, I figured if I run straight distilled water through the system, it'll cut my combustion chamber temps by what, 50-100 degrees and it wont screw with my wideband at all.

I mean, to me the only reason it seems to run meth is if your driving the car in the winter and are worried about the water freezing. Can somebody prove or disprove my statements here? I'd really like to get this straight before the car heads to the dyno here at the end of the month.

Meth Injection is not very popular with Honda's, more of a Suby/Mitsu thing....... you live in IA why not use E85?

I'd love to, minus the fact that you gotta push a TON more fuel to work it correctly. My Mustang is able to do that, but I'm not about to throw another $3500 into the fuel system of this car.

Here's a great place to do some reading, but unfortunately the link isn't working right now. Hopefully it will be soon:

If that doesn't come back up, if you can find stuff by "hotrod" on the NASIOC forum, he really knows how this stuff works.

And if all else fails, I think this is a decent writeup, but it's been a long time since I've read it:

what is your hp goal? I have less than 1k in my fuel system and almost made 600whp with E85. Even buying most expensive fuel related parts I can think of for a 1000whp setup I couldnt see spending $3500 You dont need to buy a new tank and crap like that, I left E85 in my tank, lines and rail for 5 months over the winter and I had 0 ozidation issues or messed up seals.

I think you are confusing E85 with Methanol, E85 requires an average of 30-35% more fuel where Methanol is basically 100% more fuel. I would much rather run E85 than rely on another gaget made in China that if it fails it will probably ruin my motor. You can argue E85 blends vary but I would rather run .5 of a point lean using a high octane fuel like E85 for a second than run .5 of a point lean on 93 octane with no meth spray...... just my .02

Tjabo, thanks for the links! I'm going to look over them tomorrow at work.

96 GSR-T

The fuel pump was $800 alone, then a sumped tank, all the AN fittings and lines are f'ing brutal expensive, the regulator, controller, injectors, rails, it all adds up real quick.
