Default GRINDING LOL!!!!

I kno alotta ppl have grinds through some gears...i wat told the 00excoupe trannys arent too bad to play with what would I be lookin at price wise for:

A: a rebuild
or
B: new syncros done by myself

also i was reading a thread where a guy was gonna rebuild his motor and wanted a better tranny.. A civic si tranny dosent bolt up to a ex does it???

from what I understand no. They're from two completely different series of engines. the SI has a B series and EX has a D series unless someone has come up with a D2B kit I'm not aware of...

i have the y8 tranny rite now but that dosent mean its lsd rite?? how hard would it be to put new syncros in and what would it cost

sms makes a syncro kit for the y8 tranny I believe at it runs around $130. It also comes with bearings and seals I believe. Tearing the tranny apart isn't too hard but it may be hard to remove the axle-style nut on top of the gear set. I think you also need a gear puller to get to the syncros.
