97 Del Sol A/C Cabin Filter? A/C weird noise?
Hey everyone, does anyone know if the Del Sol has a cabin filter? How do I get to it? I was able to open up the glove compartment, as I suspect it would be there. After looking behind the glove compartment, I dont know what to do next. What do i do to take out the cabin filter? Searched, but nothing came up.
If there is no cabin filter, reason I believe it was something like that is because, it blows out dust the first few seconds the A/C is on. It also makes this weird noise, like if the A/C is a industrial one in a warehouse or if it is my house A/C. I thought something was blocking the cabin filter, the intlet or it needs to be replaced.
Anyone know whats up with it? Help appreciated.

oh yes they do, we call em old dead leaves here.
You have to remove the glovebox and the evaperator coil and clean it out.
I removed a whole load from mine and the a/c worked MUCH better.

make sure the noise isnt coming from the compressor also, if thats it, thats a sign of low oil in compressor which can mean a leak either in that or sometwhere in the lines, which would eventually seize the compressor
I will be sure to try those solutions.
also, another thing i left out, it only makes this noise when the blower is on #4. when the dial is on #3, it doesnt make this noise. The noise again, is this industrial A/C noise (like right when you turn on your home A/C), but stays constant, as long as the dial is on #4. could that make it something else?
Ill do those steps first tommorrow to see if it solves the problem: check and clean evap. coil, and compressor lines.
Thanks honda techs. I'd still be wondering if there is a cabin filter if I didnt find help here.

Removing the evaporator to clean the coils requires you to disconnect the lines from the firewall behind the battery. You'l need a legal evacuation and recharge when you're done.
