Ask yourself what YOU want. How much will you expect to spend? What do you plan on doing to the car? What is your driving style? What options do you want with the car? What kind of transmission, automatic or manual? What mileage can you live with? All of these questions should be answered before anyone buys a car. Once you provide those answers, we can then steer you in the right direction.

I have a 97 Prelude with an H22A4, and I absolutely love it... 195hp stock... it's a great car Don't let anyone tell you what to get though!! There's also a 4th gen v-tech that is 190hp stock if you like the look of the 4th gens better.

Don't listen to Tizzakowack. 5th gens. are actually great, since I have one, I would know... She has 143,xxx miles and still running great. And I don't believe that they are slow, since they have the most hp out of all of the Preludes.
