Starting issue !!
1994 F22b2
New Honda parts :
External coil
Electric portion of Ignition Switch
Main Relay
Other new parts to note:
S300
450cc inj
255 lph-hp walbro pump
starter (autozone)
Dizzy (Dist king)
Greddy T-timer
Car wont start (sometimes). I have had this issue for a while now and cant seem to pin point this prob. The odd thing is after every part i have had to replace the car would start fine for a couple months. Then the prob would come back off and on, but eventually car would crank right up like nothing was wrong !!! i thought it could be the Greddy timer but i disconnected it and the car still wouldnt start. this prob is making me go
Im to the point where im open for any suggestions
Currently, I go to start and you can hear fuel pump priming, injectors turning on, then go to crank and guage lights dim but no power making it to starter to attempt to crank... but go to push start it and itll crank right up !! Its something stupid i just know it !! Thanks

If you can spot the lights dimming, you can assume that the starter solenoid is functioning, but the Starter internals may be suspect.
The Mitsuba Starter motor on the '94 incorporates a solenoid which not only engages the starter gear to the ring gear but also acts as a high amp switch - activating the starter windings.
If the lights consistantly dim (and the battery terminals are clean and tight), I would suspect the starter motor will leave you high and dry when you least need it.

Thanks for the reply, I have verified the starter is fine. I jumped it straight from the battery and turned over fine, I also unplugged starter wire to see if voltage is making it to the soleniod when key in "start" and it was ! So i plugged it back in and attempted to start it and of course it started up fine no issues !
but i did notice the clip to the solenoid connecting portion of the harness looked rough so i clipped and reattached a new connector, (hopefully this was the issue)
I think ive concluded it is a heat related issue. The car wont start if the car is fully warmed up...

Nope, battery is reading over 12 volts...
Thanks for the replies... keep them coming !

A bad battery at rest can read 12volts. More important is the battery's ability to deliver the required current at 12 volts. Measure the volts while cranking.

Still the same issue, if I go somewhere and stop i have to wait a while before attempting to restart using the starter(like a main relay symptom). I have noticed ever since i installed the new fitting on starter signal wire its gotten better but my prob has def not been solved. I only had it not start twice but it started up on the second attempt. I havent had a chance to really warm it up then attempt to restart bc of a M/C issue so not too sure if my issue is resolved !!

It never has an issue with a cold start or on a cooler day, and when it does decide to start, it cranks just like normal. It has the symptoms of a bad main relay but that was replaced 2 days ago and it still didnt start ! (but it did start via starter after it cooled down.)
I checked the voltage while i was cranking, on, and off. Everything was fine with the voltage read outs.. I just got it 2 months ago.
Im thinking i could have a bad starter signal wire.. I just dont know and i dont want to buy parts i dont need, just gotta keep troubleshooting this annoying bug
Thanks for the replies
