Default Broken Clutch?

Ok so the other day I'm driving and it felt as if the clutch was not releasing all the way. It is a new hydraulic clutch. The engine would rev I could see the rpms go up on the tac, but the car did not accelerate. As I kept driving it got worse. I came to a complete stop and the car would drive. No matter what gear I put it in the engine would just rev. I turned the car off and let it sit for awhile. After about 30 min I turned it back on and it worked without a problem. I just got the clutch and it has a little over 1k miles on it. Does anyone know what the cause could be and how I can fix it or should I just take it back to the shop that did the clutch

Take it back to the shop.

Let me ask you this, does your clutch peddle have any "freeplay" there should be about 1/2" of freeplay in the peddle, 1/2" of movement in peddle before anything happens. 94
