Default Help with sunroof/moonroof visor, Need measuments.

I've been trying to locate a visor for my EF hatch. Now BEFORE anyone decides to tell me I posted in the wrong forum, let me tell you that I see more EG and EK cars with one than EFs. Oviously because they are discontinued or hard to find. I'm trying to see if I can use one from a eg or ek. So far I got measurements from one on a 2002 civic sedan. If I can get some more from any of those who have one than I'll compare them all and buy one that comes close. I will post pics and it might help for those of you that would like to install one. I simply need measurments from the two mounting screws, from center to center, and a measurement from the outer edges from side to side, the corners closets to the rear of the car on the actual visor. Oh and if possible maybe the opening of the sun/moonroof itself from side to side. Please include if possible what year and door trim it was for or on. Pics arent necessary but would help for reference. Thank You.

I have a 5th gen and 6th gen visor. They're pretty close to the same. In fact, the 5th gen visor is on my 6th gen right now (the 6th gen one has a thinner, weaker seal, which tore when it was put on the car).

The 5th gen says "HONDA" in the center. The 6th gen just has an "H" In the center. I believe they are both discontinued now too.

The visors are for all bodies and the moonroof assemblies share many parts, so I wouldn't worry about which body it came from because the openings should all be the same size. There is no reason for them to be different.

I'm not exactly sure what you want me to measure though...

5th gen screws are 28.5 inches apart.

6th gen screws are 30 inches apart. The 6th gen visor is flatter on top than the 5th gen one.

Cool. The 01 civic I measure up was 29 1/2" from screw to screw. The visor itself was 35 inches from corner to corner and had about an 1 1/2" to 2" from the edge of the sunroof and the visor. My '89 civic Sis' Sunroof opening is about 34 3/8". I'm not sure it will fit good cause if I remeber correctly the rubber lays a little away from the actual visor on either side so I ruled that one out case it might NOT sit properly. Let me know if you can how much they measure from corner to corner.

5th gen visor is about 35 inches from rear corner to rear corner.

6th gen visor is about 35 inches from rear corner to rear corner.

They might be a tiny bit smaller. It's weird to measure a curve with a tape measure..

The 6th gen moonroof is about 31.5 wide.

So far I'm SOL, Looks like the 7th gen civic would be interchangeable with 5th and 6th gen civics. I might try to measure a DA or DC. Thanks so much, if you find any other honda visor measurements let me know.

No problem. These are just the ones I happen to own. I don't think I should try to measure ones on strange cars.

LOL. Of course not. I work at a shop so I can take the time and measure on a customers car unforntunately the 02 civic and a legend are the only ones I've seen while I've been there. I'll pick one up soon to find out for sure if it fits or not. I'll just sell it if it doesnt. Anyone know where a OEM one could be bought?

Have you tried different sections yet?

I thought of this thread today though. You're going to hate this.

I was at work and a black 4th gen hatchback with a moonroof drove by. On it was an OEM looking moonroof visor. It was tinted dark like my 5th and 6th gen ones.

It was weird to notice it right after reading this thread. The car appeared stock though.

he was driving past my work and I was inside though. There was no chance I'd even have been able to get out the window to wave him down (like he'd stop anyway).

Sucks! For a while I thought about trying to find one and never really got to it, now that I WANT ONE they are hard to come by.

It seems like that's how it works a lot of times. I've been thinking of picking up some mudguards for the same reason. They're already discontinued, so I'd hate to end up wanting them later when they're suddenly impossible to find.

haha, my EF is sporting a Mazda 626 moonroof visor. i just modified the the clips a little and it fits great!

but i really wanted it for my EG, but the width of the a pillars is different since the EF is more square up front, it doesn't fit the EG.

Do you have any pics you can post? I'm curious. Rough idea on the year it was for.

here, it wasn't photobucket...it was the user!

this fits and works awesome. i wet sanded the part in the middle where it used to say "mazda".

driven down the highway with it and i must say i have been just praying for one on my EG. especially since on both the moonroof slides in and not up.

*edit, please excuse my dirty a$s car. it hasnt been washed since i broke it...again.

Thank you. Looks good. Just expands the choices since the oem one is harder to find.
