Default 1991 civic dx 4 door build up

this is my very first honda ever. plan a little work, thank god most parts are dirt cheap for these cars. its bone stock other than the cd player (xtra 10 hp) j/k but anyways it came with the stock steelies and i put thes light as a feather rims and tires on it and tinted the windows. but all i paid for the car was a whoppin $1200 bones. the car came with 257k miles and had a used engine replacement in 2001 but runs like new.
right now all i plan on doing is putting a header, a stock spoiler from maybe a 95 or so civic, intake, cam gear, lower the car a bit, mpfi, amber bumper lights and corners, front lip (nothin fancy), jdm fog lights, yellow bulbs instead of hi beams and some Si seats. if i keep the car more than a year i may swap engine and tranny for somethin faster but for now imma keep it simple and cheap since imma broke bastard.
but i like the car alot so far, its a pretty sporty feeling car and has a nice look to it and almost endless opportunity for upgrades. before this i had a 2001 new beetle with a 1.9l tdi. thats car had some awesome gas mileage and head room, thats it! the performance parts were hella expensive and well the car was SLOW!

As you can see it needs a little love but not alot. pretty sweet i think, but will be alot sweeter. let me know what ya think or any ideas please, itd be cool.

haha finally the guy with the car that has given me some ideas. i was googleing civics b4 i bought mine and came upon your build-up thread and spend like 3 hours on it the first nite lookin at the transformation. you got a sweet ride there man. i talked to a buddy of mine a lil ago and he's got a si that he said i could get the the tranny and motor out of for $500 and he'd put it in for $200. im thinkin about it. i do like the color the charcoal is nice, makes the unpainted bumpers not stand out so bad.

oh yea and where are some good places for cheap parts?

I agree with the people advocating against adding a spoiler and skipping the small engine mods in order to save for the mini-me or b-swap. Super clean car though, should be a fun project!

yea, maybe i will skip the stock spoiler, what about the trunk lip?
alright, i looked up the me swap. i like the idea, maybe itll be cheaper than buying another engine, but does it have to be a sohc v tech (i assume there is a such thing) or can a dohc head? again this is my first honda so idont know a terrible lot about them.

a trunk lip/deck lip is dope. just dont over do it with a huge one that sticks out like its a drag car. OEMs are hard to find. some people just use them off other cars. im looking for one myself.

the mini me swap is great it you are on a budget. its gonna be a VTEC..if not then just do the MPFI swap instead. B is fun to play with but will cost to get one in.

Welcome to Honda-Tech! Other then the front bumper and windshield, you have a very clean sedan. Makes me miss my old 1990 charcoal grey EX. Would have to agree with everyone else, skip the trunk spoiler. Please take that guy up on the D16A6, Si tranny and install (if the motor and trans are in good condition). It will make a world of difference with that combo and minor bolt ons

Please keep the sedan clean and update us with tech and pix often When you're able to, come check out the EF Sedan Squad

guide lights >> Sidemarkers?? ebay is really cheap now. around 30 bucks shipped. type in like "EF sidemarker". dont go using other style like integras (oval/oval box)or other civic sidemarkers. the ones for our cars are rectangular.

$53.00 at pick n pull off a 94 civic. my buddy's gona cut them for me plus i needed the wiper and wiper contol and a dead pedal. not bad i guess, figured on it being cheaper. there was sooooo much crap i wanted to get but... 1 week at a time i guess.

good deal or not?

plus they said i can get any honda motor and tanny for $230 after tax's but i have to give them mine for a core. i want to keep mine or sell it to make my money back.

please dont cut your springs
you should look in to some lowering springs or coilovers...
53 bucks kinda high imo

o yea...do the si swap your friend have(if its in good condition)
or if not just buy it and build it up...since your car does run fine

i dont mean to jack your thread, but are the sedan parts able to be swapped onto a hatchback, like the fenders, headlights, bumper support, bumper, bumper filler? I believe the hood is a little longer if im not mistaken right?

anyway, good luck with the build. id recommend an engine swap before doing anything to the engine. the d15b2 isnt that good.
