Oil Dip stick

Default Oil Dip stick

Does it bother anyone else that the oil dip stick is Orange? i changed my oil this weekend and with new oil i find it a little hard to read it. maybe it is just me.. is their one i could replace it with?

the "jdm" one is black i believe or you can just spray paint yours for a lot cheaper

It doesn't bother me, all the dipstick in my past cars were also orange.

I did this. Looks great and no worries about it not reading correctly. I personally couldn't stand the orange-ness. It stuck out like a sore thumb when I looked at the engine bay. Painted the blue windshield washer fluid cap too.


OP...as for it being hard to read the dipstick right after an oil change. It's like that on every car. It is difficult but you'll get used to it.

The ones is my past Hondas were orange too, but the engine bays were never as appealing to the eyes as my FG2's. Everything under the hood in my other Hondas was either all black from the factory or black from dirt because I never cleaned under there.

I used high temp primer and high temp spray paint. You can find it at any auto parts store. It's what you would use to paint an engine so I know the paint won't melt or flake from the heat coming off the valve cover.

if u put in about 4 3/4 quarts of oil it should be fine.
