A few days ago I was getting off of the freeway when suddenly a Fox simply crossed the road in front of me. By the time I saw it, It was already too late. It was small so I thought that my car was fine. When I got home I noticed that the "grills" on the bottom of my bumper were broken. Behind that Is this "BAR" that is connected to my Radiator Support. It had been bent inward towards the radiator. Check it out..

Here is a closer picture of it...

Now, I want to know if this is part of my radiator support? I have a cousin who has a crx that isn't running so I wanted to take the "BAR" off of his car. I removed the 10mm bolt on the bottom of the "BAR" and another 10mm bolt which is connected to the top of the radiator support. I thought it would come off but it seems like it might be welded on to the actual support. Do I have to remove the whole radiator support or no? Please help, I want to get this fixed A.S.A.P! Here is a pic of the bolt that I had to remove but still didn't come off...

The reason I want to fix it is because sometimes I can't open my hood. When the "BAR" bent it pulled the radiator support down a bit which pulled my hood down as well. As I bent the "BAR" back to normal with the hood closed I could notice the gap in between the hood and the bumper start to open up and look normal.
I know my actual radiator support isn't bent, But I'm sure this "BAR" is pretty important too haha! Thanks again for your help fellow Honda-Tech friends. I really appreciate all of the opinions and input I receive on here.

it comes out as a T there is the bottom 10mm you got on the bottom then there 4 10mm bolts up top. follow that bar you have the circled bolt on to the edges and you will see 2 on each side
its additional support for the cross member of your radiator support if im not mistaken. It is welded to the cross member, not the bolts, atleast on mine it is. its a simple bolt off, bend back, bolt on--if its bugging you that bad.
edit-- those bolts (the three up top) hold the hood latch. There is one on the bottom (10mm as mentioned before) that bolts that bar, to the top.

Yea that is just your T bar. Its fine being bent. It just holds your hood latch pretty much. The bolts you loosened in the middle just holds your hood latch assembly. There are 4 bolts across the top and 1 bolt on the bottom holding your T bar in place. If it bothers you that much I have a extra red one ill sell you.

So if I remove the three bolts on top it should come off?

that is the tbar and it is easily replaceable the only thing u need to do is take 4 10mm bolts off

the 4 red bolts take the tbar out and the blue ones are for the hood opener
ps u will have to align the blue part so that your hood will open correctly its a trial and error thing

Okay so once I remove those bolts and the 10mm on the bottom do I have to replace the whole PLATE on top? Or just the bar that bent?

That blows! Now people are gonna think I got in a wreck! What would happen if I cut off that "BAR" and just kept it off?, Or re-welded my own??

Yeah I think I might just paint it. I might try and weld a new piece first though. Has anyone ever tried doing that?

im sure ya can weld in a new piece but it might be a challange cause the metal is thin and very weak. If ya do weld it do a little write up on it so we can see how it goes

you could do it the easy way.
take the bar out with the 4 bolts and one on bottom.
and take a hammer to the part that is bent. put the t bar back in and you are good to go.
they bend really easy with just hand pressure.

What he said^^
And this is why I like shooting foxes with my 12 gauge under a red spotlight. Less to hit with my car.
