First auto-x soon, question on tire pressure.
I've got a 93 DX with GC coilovers and AGX's. The tire/wheels are stock steelies with whatever tires are on there. The elevation will be high (about 6,500 feet and should be warm (80-90 degrees). I haven't been to this particular track, so I can't speak on the conditions. I've been told that I should increase my tire pressure so my tires don't rollover as badly as they might on street pressure. If you have experience, what would you suggest as far as tire pressure goes? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
If you are running 14s I woud suggest starting out with 45psi front and 41 rear. Mark the tires with some chalk to see if you get roll over and add more or less to get the desired effect.
When I watched an auto-x recently, I spoke with some veterans and they suggested I use chalk also. Sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the info.
Pyrometer also works for me. You measure the outside, middle and inside tread on the front tires and make sure they are even after 1 or 2 runs.
Then adjust the rears to get the car to rotate. Usually on Civics it's biased by 5-8 psi.

One good tip is don't inflate the tires days before the event. I did this and ended up having a sharp *** rock ruin a tire. Just some advice
