if anyone could help me get a list together to make a 1990 civic into a rear wheel drive please leave a comment. I know im going to need a motor trans clutch-kit driveshaft and rear end but i dont know where to find them and what to get. its my project car but my daily driver is about to **** out on me. if anyone can help i need this done ASAP!!! thank you all.

 

You need a RWD motor, transmission, wiring harness, ECU, and a lot of fabbing talent/hookups. You may as well take a frame from a RWD car and drop a Civic shell on top of it.

If you want an example of this, look up "civette."

solid axle or irs?

solid axle, just cut a section of your rear pan out the clear the axle, figure out some 4 link set-up ladder/panhard bar w/e the hell you want back there.

relocate the fuel tank, run the driveshaft down the tunnel.

new mounts etc.

really depends what motor you want.

its been done a few times.
mostly out side of this site. but its been done probably about 14 times and counting?
that i know of. most notably twinturbo v8 junkyard ej1 sheel

 

this is a bad idea.. your gonna waste your money, most people are just gonna look at it as a 90 civic, and your gonna have alot of issues... just save your money and spend it on a real rwd honda like an s2000.. its not worth it at all.. unless you have a really powerful motor and kno what your doing and aparently you dont..

 

i believe there is a post on here of someone who is putting an s2k motor in their crx to make it RWD. it was awhile ago when i ran across it

 

Seriously, if you don't already know then i doubt you have the skills to make it work.

this cant be done asap so there goes your project save your money and buy a nsx

 

You understand when it's done it's no longer a civic... the drive will be unrecognizable as a civic. When it's done it will only be a hacked up freak that resembles a civic. Have fun.

 

Dont even attempte it. buy my 89 civic si with b16a lsd tranny. :D

 

if you want rwd sell the car. buy a 240 like every other bandwagon tool who thinks they can drift

 

Maybe the guy has a 4wd wagon? In that case, pop out the front CV's, take out the center viscous coupler and re weld a solid driveshaft. Then have fun.

 

parts you need to make your 90 civic rwd? a complete NSX.. that way you can transfer all the parts from the nsx to the 90 civic
